“The wisdom of the Moon is greater than the wisdom of the Earth because the Moon sees the universe better than the Earth can see it.” - Mehmet Murat Ildan
Welcoming the Hunter’s Full Moon
Yesterday evening we welcomed the Hunter’s Full Moon in the grounding of Taurus, which also doubled as a partial lunar eclipse. Over the past few months, I have been learning more about lunar living, and I was particularly drawn to the energy surrounding the Hunter’s Full Moon as it harnesses the power of renewal and spiritual reflection.
The clocks went back this weekend, and we are moving closer towards the winter. The nights are getting longer, the mornings darker, there is a beautiful delicate chill in the air and nature is changing all around us. For the first year ever, I really feel like I am noticing the changing seasons and learning about lunar living has been such an important part. Spending time reading about the moon and the invitation it gives us to tap into its energy is fascinating. The Hunter’s Moon is known as one of the brightest and most beautiful full moons and I’ve really resonated with the guidance it brings.
Why is it called the Hunter’s Moon?
This full moon is commonly referred to as the Hunter’s Full Moon. It is believed that this name was inspired by hunters going to prepare for the upcoming cold winter by going hunting. As the name suggests, this moon acted as a guide and beacon for hunters, lighting their way during evening hunts and then safe home afterwards. The Hunter Moon signals a time to prepare and gather.
Many cultures honour the Hunter’s Moon by using it as a time for gratitude and reflection. It is also seen as a time to set intentions for the future and to make wishes for the coming year.
This full moon illuminates our deeper layers - it is an opportunity for true awareness and just like the season encourages a period of change into a new phase of life. The partial eclipse gives extra power to the intensity of this full moon, and it really is a wonderful time to welcome in some new energy and focus on spiritual growth as well as self-reflection.
Harness the power of the Hunter’s Moon in Taurus
Taurus is an earth sign and is known for its grounding energies, ruled by Venus it has a connection to nature and patience. The Full Moon in Taurus hints at stability, persistence, and grounding.
The Taurus influence encourages us to slow down and be more present- making it a good time to practice mindfulness and explore your spirituality. This resonated with me as it felt like a reflection of my slow and gentle living philosophy and mindful living. But, even more, as I’ve also been retuning into my spiritual side recently and trying to be more open. I had closed off my creative and spiritual side over the years, particularly when my anxiety was high as I reduced the world around me to cope.
Rekindling my interest, listening to my intuition, and opening up my spirituality again has been such a positive and helped me remember my own quiet power. This full moon really pulls on this, and I welcome the guidance.
So how do you harness the power of the moon?
I think it is all about taking the time to explore your own spirituality, welcoming in new beginnings and being open to the changes and transformations that this can inspire.
Spiritual Reflection
The Hunter’s Moon is said to bring an increased awareness and heightened spiritual energy. Allowing yourself to open up to the power of the natural world brings with it so much insight and wisdom. This full moon is an invitation to embark on some self-reflection with a particular connection to your spiritual side. This is a time to look back and recognise the progress that has been made as well as being open and reconnecting with your intuition and spirit.

New Beginnings
Every full moon is an opportunity to start a fresh and marks a new beginning. How you harness this is aligned with your hopes, dreams wishes and goals. It can be a really good time to create new plans and do a ‘life check in’ to support your dreams and wishes again. It is a perfect time to take stock and refocus on a new lunar cycle and the new beginning that it can signify.

Transformation
Life transforms around us all the time, and taking the time to notice the transformation of the natural word is a humbling and beautiful practice. It can help us let go of the past and embrace the present. This energy invites change and an attraction to purpose and fulfilment. I think it serves a reminder that we have so much power within, but in harnessing the natural energy around us and aligning with lunar living, we can tap into an abundance of wisdom and power to help propel us towards changes we want and need.

Full Moon Energy
“The moon was reigning over their world, glowing its full splendour to all those willing to look up.” - Irina Serban, Full Circle
I love feeling the strength of the full moon’s energy, and the Hunter’s Full Moon has really resonated with me. It is a wonderful time to check in with yourself and redirect your own energy with more intention. The spiritual power of the Hunter’s Full Moon can be used to help inspire your own spiritual growth and intuition. This weekend and in the coming lunar cycle, I hope you find ways to harness the increase in energy and possibility and take time to tune into the ways you can bring about positive changes in your life.
I am loving learning about the energy and influence of each moon phase, as I embrace Lunar Living- and I hope this has sparked an interest in you too! I am very much a beginner, and at start of this journey, so I welcome any and all thoughts and comments, as well as any recommendations you may have!

Your hunters moon explains why it was SO bright so late when I was going to bed. The moon always sits on the other side of my condo building so I rarely see it but maaaan was the snow covered ground bright at midnight!
