Wabi Sabi has been on my list for some time now. I am currently reading 'The Happiness Project' by Gretchen Rubin. I discovered this book at a book store in Vietnam but didn't buy it as it was really expensive. I recently found it on discount at Amazon. It is such a lovely book, you should definitely check it out.🥰
That is so spooky - I read The Happiness Project when I wrote my dissertation on the pursuit of happiness at University! It is sitting on my bookshelf - right now! I haven’t read it in years. I think Gretchen Rubin may be on Substack too!
I can hardly believe I have never read Wabi Sabi! I have read so much of Beth Kempton’s work, but never this great work. It was a recent gift from my Husband and I am really looking forward to reading it. Do you have a copy ready and waiting?
Once again, Emily, I am in awe of your capacity for reading! So many suggestions here. Just to let you know we are going to get a copy of Forgotten Churches & tick them off as we go on our adventures!
Thank you Julia 😊 my love of reading has grown to reach new heights the last couple of years !
Oh my gosh, what a wonderful idea. The book looks so gorgeous, I'm so glad you got it ... I hope you do check out Luke and Sherlock & Pages too, I wish I lived closer so I could visit in person. 📚
Hello Emily! I Always love reading through book lists 😍 I read the house on the cerulean see months ago and it was really cozy and lovely. I will give a chance to Emily Wilde's encyclopedia, i'm not 100% sure but I will have a try!
During my holiday at the sea I read the summer skies by Jenny colgan, it was a perfect summer read. Now I borrowed from the library Lessons in Chemistry; I will read it once finishing Fair Play by Louise Hegarty: I have mix feelings about this book because it's not the usual murder mistery 🤔
A friend recommended to me to read Elena Ferrante series (you probably know her, is an Italian author that became famous worldwide with her books) so maybe after these 2 books I will read them.
Have a lovely July 🥰 I'm waiting for an afternoon thunderstorm ⛈️ !
Emily Wilde is just perfect for a cosy, lighter fantasy and particularly Wendell and Emily are just brilliant characters. It's a lovely read. I hope you enjoy it ! You'll have to let me know.
I would like to read Lessons in Chemistry too ... It's always been on my radar but never made it onto a TBR list!
I don't know Elena Ferrante, I will check them out. Thank you.
I was also hoping for a thunderstorm ⛈️ but apart from a lovely half an hour of heavy rain, nothing has developed as yet ! I've fallen head over heels in love with rain this year. 💕
I've just finished This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things by Naomi Wood - well worth a look.
Oh thank you James ! That has been on my radar !

Oh I forgot to mention Sophie's world, I read it...20 years ago??? But I remember I loved it !
Awwww do you think you may pick it up again ?
Sometimes I thought about it! It will surely be different reading it at 19 or 39 😊 there is anothe book that was compared to this but about art
Don't know if it was translated in English
Is by Thomas Schlesser the tiles should be Monna Lisa's eyes
I have so enjoyed returning to Sophie's World, it is a treasure of a book, and I continue to be so impressed by it.
I also remember loving the orange girl, again by jostein gardeer.
I also have 2 others of his books but never read 😬
