Great ideas in here, thankyou! I mostly do diary style journalling as find this easiest to fit in. I've been tracking my daily moods against the lunar cycles which has been super interesting!

I like the idea of a pocket journal for collecting quotes, words, ideas.

Thank you Hayley ! I tried to track my energy levels with the lunar phases, but it didn't last long ! 🙈 Have you found many patterns ?

I think the pocket journal/commonplace journal is perhaps one of the most useful and effective but you just have to get into the habit of bringing it with you and reaching for it as often as you can! 💗

Emily, I would like to do seasonal Journalling connecting this to my nature writing, I am not an artist so it is thinking how this might look xxx

I loved reading this. I think I am going to give common place journaling a go as I already have an art journal. Thanks for the suggestions

Thank you ! I am so glad it has inspired a new method for you. I love the idea that common placing becomes a collection of things you love or find interesting. So once you start compiling it, it will slowly become a place you can dip in and out of and know that you will love everything within its pages.

I’m quite keen to start a commonplace book because I think that would suit me quite well…of course, I need to actually do it 🙈😂

Yes - I think you will enjoy it! Maybe to start with - create a common place book around a specific theme or project? Rather than a more general one? It may feel more useful, and then you may be more likely to stick with it! The index is very important - I skipped it once, and what a mess! Couldn’t find a thing!

This was such a great post. Thank you for sharing.

I have multiple journals for different things. None are arty though (very writing focused), would love to do an nature journal using a mix of art and words, but I don't feel like I have the skills. Would love to learn to draw.

I just looked up Louise Carmen - the journals looks beautiful - very similar to the Martha Brook London journals! Journaling in all different shapes and sizes is my favourite hobby - it is such a wonderful way to reconnect with yourself. I think your journaling sounds absolutely magical!!!! I can see you filling up your Louise Carmen companion with so much beauty!
