Love this: A common misconception of slow living is that it is devoid of ambition, productivity, and drive. I have found the opposite to be true. I've never felt more focused or been more productive in my life. I achieve this with a sense of peace and calm, that I didn't think was possible.

Thank you Grace 🙏 I honestly do think learning about and harnessing slow living is a super power ... It unlocks so much from within! The confidence, peace and contentment it offers gives us the opportunity to spread our wings, take steps forward and try new things and be more productive !

I like the message of slowing down and being gentle with yourself. I've been practicing being gentle and loving myself but I haven't thought of the slowing down as part of it. I think trying to incorporate a slower rhythm into my life will be a new years resolution as well as thinking of it as something alright to do and not something wrong or lazy as society often wants us to believe.

Aww thank you and I am so happy this has helped put slow living into your mind and your intentions for next year. Slow living has really changed my life, and one of the main reasons I started this Substack was to share slow and gentle living and hopefully inspire some positive change for people.

I love every bit of it. I hadn’t realized slow living was a thing, even though it’s been a way of living for me these past years.

I am making a commitment to myself to include more creativity in order to make more of what’s inside me, for 2024. Thank you for the inspiration.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom and insights. Excited to follow your reflections in the year to come.

A beautifully nourishing read for me. Thank you. I have long covid and the single biggest lesson (and challenge !) has been to stop feeling guilty about not being able to show up to life as quickly as society, others and my more productive parts would like. This helps to rewire all the conditioning. Thanks for being my dose of medicine today 🧡

My nervous system relaxed just reading your words. A slower pace sounds wonderful. I recently deleted instagram from my phone and can't believe the space just that one act created in my day. I love the idea of a time blocking tracker to see how I use my time> Thank you I am going to try this and hopefully find some space in each day. xx

Thank you ! That is so amazing to hear, honestly made my day 💕🙏🙌 I think we often forget the power of those small changes and gentle tweaks that can all add up to a life changing difference. It's far more encouraging to come from a place of love and gentle growth, nothing meaningful happens overnight. Please let me know how you get on, and I'll be your personal cheerleader whenever you need! ✨

For me, the slowing down part happened automatically with the pandemic. Afterwards, I never went back to my old lifestyle. I credit a lot of it to having adopted my dog at the beginning of Covid. Having her has encouraged me to spend SO much more time outdoors in nature.

Probably my biggest time waster is also screen time in the evenings. After 7pm I tend to sit in front of the TV way too long as well. I'm trying to incorporate earlier bedtimes/less screen time now.

Thanks for sharing your practice!

I think the pandemic gave us all pause, and there were lessons to be learnt in that space - I, like you - felt and incorporated a lot of change during that time and afterwards.

Being open is so important. Living with my anxiety and the uncertainty/lack of confidence that comes with it, I had seriously closed myself off from myself , people and the world. Slow living with a gentle approach has given me a safe place to get to know myself and explore again. It's a process, but I think this last year I am moving with so much more peace and calm. My confidence has grown and with it my motivation and productivity.

It's wonderful to hear how you have adopted slow living, and I am certain now it is in your mind more- changes will start to happen. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and being so encouraging.
