Me neither! I’m doing a 52 books a year challenge and loving it (I’m a fast reader so this challenge works for me). Jenna - I haven’t heard of Big Magic! What’s it about? 😀
I love that you are embracing slow living in your life. I find myself drawn to it as well. I think having the time to intentionally slow down is the only thing that keeps me sane in this chaotic world.
I am a lover of books too— might I suggest you read What I Know For Sure by Oprah Winfrey? It’s an amazing book.
Hi Mansi, Thank you so much! I had put off writing it for too long! I am excited to explore and share all aspects of Slow & Gentle Living here so I am so happy you are here for the ride.
I will absolutely look up your book recommendation thank you!
Hello, Emily! I live in Scotland, part-timing (well, full-time tbh but since I start super early in the morning, the rest of the day is for me, so like a part-time), living in a flat with my landlord and another flatmate. Am also living with anxiety so I also practise self-care and slow, sustainable living. Oooh I love cooking plant-based, real foods, too, I enjoy being in the kitchen. Since I'm WFH for a remote company, I love pottering about the house, cleaning, in a contemplative state. Using my extra time to walk daily in nature (I live near 2 lochs), or out of town for networking events.
I always love your newsletter, and I found that putting out my weekly newsletter also works for my writing rhythm as well, not burdening myself by more than one post per week. Have a great week, Emily, and thanks for sharing!
Hello Sekar, I'm so glad you enjoy reading 🙏 I'm so happy to have you here. It's lovely hearing all the similarities we have. I think we will be able to learn so much from one another. ✨ Sounds like you have a wonderful balance to manage everything. Looking forward to getting to know you even more.
Hi Emily! We sound so extremely similar. I’m so glad to have found you and your lovely words. I also love me some good slow living, I’ve been vegan for 12 years (and love to cook more than anything), reading is my jam, and I live with anxiety as well. So so glad to be connected with you in this space. ✨
Wow Kristen! Hello - there are so many similarities - that's amazing. I am very happy we have connected here. It is truly one of the things I am appreciating so much, finding like minded people to share with and be inspired by. Thank you, I will head over to your Substack to take a look too.
So lovely to get to know you more Emily! Love the photo collage! It shows us a lot in just a little snapshot. Makes me wish we could share a hot cuppa and just chat over our fav books. 🥰
Thank you! And thank you for inspiring me to just do it! I wish we could too! That would be so lovely. We'll have to settle for a shared cuppa over Substack for now!
Really enjoyed reading this Emily and the other lovely resources you've shared here! I'm also trying to embrace a more slow, gentle and cyclical lifestyle so I'm always excited to find others to learn from! I've been vegetarian for a long while but transitioning to vegan this month... :D
Thank you Amy! Welcome! I am glad you found your way here! We've so much to explore together. And I am definitely your girl for vegan food chat! Anytime just reach out - I do post lots of vegan food inspo on Instagram @generosityofspirit
I really hope I’m not the only person who zoomed in to see what’s on your bookshelf! 😀
Yessss! I can't stop buying books at the moment!
Omg me too 🤦♀️🤣

Go you!✨👍✨
Love that book too!
A great hero post and I just listened to the voice over and your voice is just as gentle as your teaching💕
Thank you Nika, that is so nice of you to say- especially as it always weird hearing your voice outside of your own body!!!!
I know that feeling! I tried doing a podcast once and it was super weird to hear my voice recorded haha.
I wish I could 'like' this again, just for the audio 🙂 Well done, enjoyed it!
Thank you so much ! Good spontaneous decision! 🙌
We’re practically neighbours Emily, I love just down the road in Beccles 🤎
