This was absolutely lovely! It seems like you’ve had a beautiful year. And I love your ideas for reflection - it’s so good to do it now and plan a long winter’s rest for yourself. I wish you the most amazing end of the year. I’ll be taking a break from the solstice until a week into January. And I can’t wait to hunker down, reflect, and dream for the new year. ❣️
I think so too. It's so important to give yourself a proper break and rest. I'm glad you are too. I'm really looking forward to these next few weeks ... I'll still do just as much writing and planning but I'm looking forward to having a play creatively too. 💕💕💕
What a beautiful roundup - you've definitely inspired me to do one of my own.
And I was thrilled to see the Norwich photos in there too. Discovering that beautiful city this year (now my son is at Uni there) has definitely been one of the highlights of 2024 for me.
Brilliant review of 2024. Like you I’m part of Beth’s Soul Circle and I’m stepping away from tech - well social media to be precise. I backed off in Summer when I joined here. A much calmer and kinder space to hang out. I am making more time to read. I tried the Kindle (on my iPad) but prefer holding a real book in my hand. It’s so comforting. I went over and had a nosey at your writing space - wow! It’s divine. I write at the dining room table and now I’m rethinking that 😬😉 Lots of inspiration here. Thank you. Happy New Year to you Emily 🥳🙏💕
Thank you! I have to say - giving myself an actual writing space has been so powerful for me. I absolutely love it, and it really feels like a commitment to my writing and me. I highly recommend it, if you can find a place in your house to reclaim!
It did take me a little while to get used to the kindle, and I still read a lot of physical books but honestly it has been life changing - yes! Big statement. But just the space saving, money saving aspect alongside the convenience and don’t even get me started on the quote saving and note taking functions! - I honestly love it so much.
Such a lovely last letter of the year, Emily 🥰 Have a really wonderful, calm and gentle Christmas and I look forward to more from you in the new year! Thank you for all of your wonderful kind, gentle and inspiring words 🧡xx
Thank you so much Eva ☺️ and same to you! Have a lovely Christmas time 💞 it's actually really nice to take a little break. Thank you for all your support 🙏 it's been lovely getting to know you on here !
This was exactly what I wanted and didn't know I needed! This has given me inspiration for the rest of December and reflecting and making plans for next you. Thank you and have a lovely Christmas ❤️
That's so lovely to hear. Thank you so much. I really think it's worth taking some time for yourself before the year ends, to just slow down and reflect on the year. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year too 🙏🎉
After reading your lovely 2024 reflections post I listened to the audio version. What a treat! You are such a sweet inspiration for those of us seeking a slower lifestyle. My focus this Christmas is on simplicity. I am ready for the Winter Season of rest and planning. I want to go deeper into a calm gentle slow life in 2025. Generosity of Spirit is a peaceful place to find ideas and encouragement. Have a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thank you so much Lynn, you are so kind to say that 🙏 I am so glad you found your way here and yes, I do hope you will find lots of inspiration and encouragement here ! 💕
I loved reading this Emily, and I’ve loved following your journey this year. Your intentions for 2025 are not dissimilar to mine. My focus is also on “Leaning deeper into lunar and seasonal living” and I’ve also bought a couple of packs of tarot cards. I’m intrigued by your North Star project 😊. Have a fabulous festive break 🎄and thank you for all that you’ve shared 😊
Thank you Debbie, that means the world to me. And discovering your Substack has been a huge highlight for me! I am excited to have a little break, although it will feel so strange not posting on Sunday! I am so excited for 2025 and I am sure we will connect even more !
Such a lovely, reflective read Emily, thank you! ✨ I feel inspired by what you'd like to bring into 2025 with you. One of mine is to get back into journaling regularly and make it a habit again.
Thank you so so so much Jenna. 🙏 I love journaling, but it's easy to fall out of the habit, especially if you have other projects on the go and life gets inevitably busy. But I've found it is so worth carving the time out. Even just a few minutes (and I have to remind myself of this often!). One of my favourite things to do, is re-read old entries and journals ... It always amazes me, how at the time it doesn't always feel special and can be just an ordinary day... but nearly always on reflection there is always something to pull or gain ... Nostalgia, wisdom, gratitude, lessons, self reflection so much. 💕
That's so true! I really do feel the benefit when I do make that time for myself. I used to always journal before bed - which I love as a reflective way to end the day. But recently I've found myself feeling so tired that I don't have the energy. I do however, have one of those 5 Year journals where you write a line a day for 5 years. That's something I have stuck with and love reading back on too 🤍
A beautiful, calming post to wrap the year with a nice bow, Emily, so well-done!
I've been enjoying your thoughts and learning from you a lot this year. I'm glad you will have a break to look forward to, and I hope you'll have the joyful rest of this year and come back refreshed :)
Thank you so much Sekar 🙏 and for all your kind words and generous support. It feels right to have a proper break this year... And yes so excited for 2025 💕
I feel like we're kindred spirits Emily - just subscribed! Looking forward to exploring here and immersing myself in this quiet, soothing space. Have a beautiful Christmas and New Year.🎄✨
Yessss ! March this year ! Isn't it crazy... !? I loved that workshop, genuinely a real turning point for me . I just saw myself so much more clearly afterwards, and it has brought me so much joy having the boards up and visible this year.

I've loved seeing your photos on Instagram. I'm originally from London but I absolutely love Norwich and it is home 🏡
I hope your son is enjoying UEA ... I graduated from there a few years ago now !
I hope you do find time for a little reflection of your own. I found it really helpful 💞

I can well believe it. I’m going to persevere with the Kindle then. Thanks Emily 🙏🏻

Oh Hanna, thank you so much. That is so very special - thank you for telling me, it means more than I could say!
Beautiful shares Emily. Thank you for the mention. Gosh was the vision board workshop only this year?! ✨💕💞
