Thank you, Emily, for this lovely reminder 🕯 This morning, I awoke at my usual and natural time around 5:00 am and it was pouring down rain here in Jamaica (water is truly a blessing!). Yesterday, my husband got me one simple strand of colorful lights that we put in our potted palm tree (our only Christmas decoration). When I woke this morning and went out into our living hall (that's what they call a living room here on the island), I was greeted by the palm tree with its lights shining against the backdrop of rain. I didn't bother with my usual morning chores, I went straight to get a candle and make a cup of coffee whilst listening to my Grandma's favorite Christmas songs. I sat down in the darkness of the early morning, mug of hot coffee, candle burning, rain falling, Christmas lights twinkling and I thought to myself: this is a magical moment. I am carrying that vibe with me today and wishing the same for you, beautiful soul. 🙏🕯🎁
You described that moment so well, I was right there with you. It sounds absolutely magical ✨ I'm so glad my post resonated, I wasn't sure whether to post and disturb people's Christmas Eve but I just wanted to spread a little ordinary magic in amongst the louder Christmas celebrations 🎄 thank you for sharing your moment, I truly loved reading it 🙏
Magic moments are a beautiful way to describe the simile pleasured in life. I hope you a restful Christmas & New Year! Today's magic moments included, coffee brought to me in bed, my feet touching the sand and speaking to my brother on his birthday. Thank you for this heartfelt and delightful read! xx
Your magic moments sound so lovely, I particularly love the grounding energy of your feet in the sand. I am so glad you enjoyed this post. It is such a fun and comforting practice to take time to notice our own magic moments isn't it!?
Emily, I loved this share. I’m also resonating with looking at ways to find more Joy, not only in this season but this year and will be posting about it too myself. What magic that is truly 😇. My favorite way to find and savor the magic is through daydreaming. I get so many insights for my life that way too.
Thank you so much. I love day dreaming! Such a lovely way to encourage your mind and spirit to be free. My word of the year is DREAM - so I will definitely make time for some daydreaming too.
A magic moment was seeing our kids take more responsibility with the trip. (Our teenager was keeping us on track with leaving on time. The oldest is doing some of the driving. The kids packed the car.)
I would love to add more magic hunting into 2024! 🔍
You and I were on the same wavelength over the holidays. I also wrote about one small, unexpected moment of joy that's changed an otherwise challenging day. I appreciate these little things so much more than you know!
That's lovely to hear ☺️ I think sometimes overwhelm can happen in feeling small against these big, loud moments with so much expectation... so I find a lot of comfort in focussing and looking for the tiny moments of joy each day. Thank you for sharing and I really hope you had a lovely Christmas. ❤️
My magic moment is always in the early morning. It's winter here where I live and the sun doesn't rise until around 8-8.30am. I always wake up at 4-4.30am because of my remote work company, but the seemingly terrible routine brings me the unseen beauty of working, typing on the keyboard, and journalling in the early morning where everything is still quiet. Not many souls are out on the street (at least in my neighbourhood, a little town anyway), so I always enjoy those morning hours and will definitely miss those once I move jobs in a couple of months (that doesn't require me to wake up early), but I guess I can still keep up the early morning routine for the sake of my mental calmness.
I'm celebrating Christmas, thank you, Emily for your wishes. Happy Christmas and enjoy your holiday season as well!
Awww that sounds heavenly... Hopefully you will still be able to get up early with your new job ... It sounds like a perfect way to wake up and enjoy some moments of peace and calm. Merry Christmas to you and thank you for sharing your moment with us all 🙏🎄❤️
I think we may share a similar philosophy! Those moments, the simple things, matter more than can be simply said. You shared a beautiful list of such special moments!
My heart feels so warm appreciating our children's laughter when they play, and simply being with our loved ones. You mentioned the end of a good book--I really enjoy returning to the middle of a good book, yay! Enjoying that now as I read The Hunting Moon by Susan Dennard (https://substack.com/@stdennard). Such a good point you make about the opening credits of a favourite movie!
Thank you so much 🙏 it really is amazing how much power those little moments can have scattered across a day, a week, month, year, lifetime ! Oh thanks for linking Susan Dennard ... I'll be sure to check it out. 💞

wow. what resonance. I'm always left in awe when my angels help me find resonance with others in this way too. ❤️
I love how you call it magic! ✨
I am in the car on the way to see family.

Magic hunting! What a wonderful phrase!
That sounds wonderful, working together effortlessly and creating that every day magic all around. I hope you had a wonderful time with family.

I just devoured the first two books in her Luminaries series!
Those little moment truly are the big moments, as in, some of the best <3
