I have saved this to refer back to because there are many of these that I am not good at. Multitasking and being aware of my circadian rhythms chief among them. Thank you for this wonderful aide memoire. X
Thank you Victoria. These are my ten that I return to again and again - and I think it is ok that some fall away a little every now and then, it just takes a little readjusting and you can discover more ways to invite slow in. I hope you had a lovely weekend- I really loved reading your post this morning too. 🙏
I’ve been doing a “Once a day in May” for subscribers with little nudges to slow down and appreciate life and these are exactly the types of things I’m talking about. I myself really worked hard at saying no and it works. Thanks for this list!
That's wonderful Rachel 🙏 I hope your subscribers are getting a lot out of it. Oh, 'no' is such a tough one, especially coming from a people pleasing or facilitating background ... ! Small steps, it's all progress 💞
Thank you Emily - I am getting much better at saying no ( In a kind way ) but it still feels uncomfortable. I love silence from the modern day world, we can then here what is really there x
It is hard. I still always try and over explain and give reasons ... The whole ' no is a full sentence ' has been difficult for me to truly grasp ! But I am trying! No is so important. 🙏
Thank you Maria 🙏 that is so kind and lovely to hear. I do hope to inspire a bit of slow and gentle living for everyone, I really believe that everyone - in big and small ways can benefit. I'm so glad you enjoyed this letter, these are definitely my 'go to's' I rely on the most 🐢💛
I really enjoyed this read Emily. My leg is giving me grief. We've had to rearrange a holiday so I'm feeling grumpy but this helped get me back on track. I'm going to try giving myself 5 minutes in the morning outside before I make the tea for Nick.
Thank you Julia! I am so sorry your leg is still causing you pain, and you have had to rearrange your holiday. I am glad this letter gave you a little moment just for you, and may be while you recover you can find more little moments for you that will make you feel better. I really hope you recover soon. 💕
Thank you Debbie - these are the ten that I come back to again and again. I loved researching our circadian rhythm, it is so interesting. It has inspired me to get outside into the fresh air as soon as I can when I wake up, even if it is just a few deep breathes at an open window!
I think that is actually a really lovely idea. This morning before leaving for work I pottered around the garden for a couple of minutes. It was great to do this instead of my letting my first experience of a new day be walking to the car. It felt more intentional somehow so I'm definitely going to make this a daily habit from now on.
Oh that is lovely Debbie ... I'm sure it will be harder in the colder months, but honestly even by an open window and a few big breathes into the outside would do it. It's a really lovely, gentle way to start the day. And you are so right, so much nicer to take that time, rather than your first step outside being to the car. A really beautiful new habit to cultivate 🙏

Completely agree with all of these!
A slow gentle morning start is my number one priority. Thankyou 🙏💛
Thank you Hayley. Yes, I keep getting up earlier and earlier because the morning is fast becoming my favourite part of the day 💕 precious time indeed.
Good advice as always, Em
Thank you James! 💕
It’s nice to be reminded of these things in such a gentle way. Thank you.
Thank you so much Emma 🙏
Thank you Emily, I have saved this post to come back to as all your tips are so helpful xx
Thank you Angela 🙏 I'm so pleased!!!

These are great reminders for us all Emily. I 100% agree with the ideas you've shared.
I recently came across the circadian rhythm and it's one that I want to work on.
